Ti do una bella new, una prima mondiale: a Maranola di Formia (Latina) lo scorso fine settimana i miei amici abruzzesi Luca e Antonello hanno presentato la prima zampogna elettronica, che suonerà anche come cornamusa (musette, gaita, scozzese, e tante altre ... volendo anche come piva emiliana, basta campionare il suono) la cosa interessante è che non è una classica midi e non hai bisogno di un PC o altro, si ha bisogno solamente di un cavo e di casse o di cuffie. Il suono è molto fedele all'originale, siccome è stato campionato bene. La zampogna elettronica "prototipo" si riassume in un solo tubo: mano destra in alto per la canna melodica e mano sinistra in basso per la canna melodica e dietro pollice per il bordone modulante a tre note, ma volendo si possono invertire le mani, ovvero mano destra per le note basse e mano sinistra per le note alte (come la piva). Questa zampogna non andrà a soppiantare la zampogna tradizionale di legno, ma è uno strumento da studio o da concerto (palco) insomma non si andrà a fare la novena con la zampogna elettronica.

Dear Fabio, I would like to give you a very good piece of news as well as a sneak preview: last weekend at Maranola of Formia (Latina) my friends from Abruzzo, Luca and Antonello and I presented the first ever first electronic bagpipe, which will also be able to play as a normal bagpipe (such as the gaita, the scottish, the musette, and many other instruments...... even the piva emiliana, all you have to do is sample the music). The interesting thing is that it is not a classical electronic instrument as you don't need a PC or other device, but only a cable and speakers or headphones. The sound is very faithful to the original, as it has been sampled very carefully. The electronic bagpipe "prototype" and its functions can all be summarized in a single tube: you must use your right hand upwards for the melodic barrel and your left hand downwards for the melodic barrel, while behind you must place your thumb for the modulating three note border, but if you wish, you may also reverse the position of your hands, by using the right hand for the low notes and the left hand for the high notes (as occurs in the piva). This bagpipe will absolutely not substiute the traditional wooden bagpipe, but it may function as a studio or concert (stage) instrument. In other words, you will not be perfoming live with the electronic bagpipe.
