In occasion of the "Notte tricolore" which was held in various historical parts of the city of Bologna on the 16th of March, the Pivenelsacco were invited to accompany the choirs participating in the event. The music played by our instruments could be heard very well even from a distance as we performed in Piazza Maggiore (which is the most important square in the city and one of the most known in Italy) and along the ancient streets where the sound was amplified naturally thanks to the narrow streets and the construction of the buildings. During the exhibition we played the many highlights of our repertoire while alternating with vocals and received a lot of applause. We were also continously photographed by the crowds and bystanders. The entrance to Palazzo Accursio was exremely exciting because, despite being only six of us : Ligera, Fabioloso, Tufanakis, Ferdi Tiolix and Sanchez, the greatness of sound we produced and it bouncing from one vault to the other was truly remarkable. We then proceed to go in the Farnese Chapel of the Palazzo, to play on the long staircase and soon discovered that playing bagpipes while walking up hundreds of steps is pretty tiring! Then finally in the main room of the Palace all the choirs of the various directories sang and played a final exhibition dedicated to the Risorgimento, in front of the massive crowd which had formed. The day after the event our photos were posted on the two of the most important newspapers in Italy: the "Corriere della Sera" and the "La Repubblica"( where we were feautured on the web pages), but it is also possible to see us on Youtube where there are two films dedicated to the choirs and where you can listen to our music.
